Carolin Sophie Margraf

Carolin Sophie Margraf first began her work in the field of historical harps while studying musicology at the Christian Albrecht University of Kiel and the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg (GER). She has performed both in ensembles and as a soloist throughout Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Carolin holds a Master’s degree in Early Music and Historical Harps with a minor in Early Music Pedagogy from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (CH). In July 2021, she was a guest lecturer for the Historical Harp Society of Ireland’s “Scoil na gCláirseach – Festival of Early Irish Harp” for the first time, and has been teaching classes and workshops for the HHSI on a regular basis since then. Carolin is exploring the use of historical harps in New Music, and in 2021 was invited by the label Discreet Editions to participate in CD recordings for an album of compositions for historical instruments by Adrián Demoč.
